You’ve Got QUESTIONS, We’ve Got ANSWERS: Mastermind Community Q&A

Q: Master-WHAT?!?

A: Mastermind Community. Another way to describe this is “community of managers who talk about all things leadership.”

This is a group of people who also want to get better at leading people, and people who want some company and accountability on the journey.

When you work in an organization without other managers to share notes with, it can be difficult to know how to navigate new and challenging situations.

The Mastermind Community is a place to say, “this situation happened and I have no idea where to start.”

Someone in the community might say, “yeah, that happened last week to me.”

Another may chime in: “we had a similar situation happen last fall. Let me tell you what happened – and what we will do differently next time.”

The cool thing is that two weeks later, at the next call — or a week later on the community online chat — someone may ask, “hey, how did your difficult situation get resolved?” And you’ve got a community of people who genuinely care about you, your situation, and your outcome.

Q: Who is this mastermind community for?

A: It’s lonely at the top!…and it can be difficult to know how to approach a situation as a manager.

If you are in an organization where you are the only manager — or you don’t have other manager colleagues you feel you can confide in — it’s easy to feel like you’re on a deserted island.

This community for for managers — and aspiring managers — who want other professionals to compare notes with, especially those who:

  • Are promoted to lead a team they were once a part of;
  • Have been in an industry for a while but are now leading a team for the first time;
  • Have been managing a team or clients, but need a trusted group to share and ask questions.

Does this sound like you? Or someone you know? Then this community is for you!

We’ll meet twice a month for online meetings (12-12:55 PM CST). You’ll also be able to check in with other mastermind community members in an exclusive chat group between meetings.

Q: I’m kinda sick of online meetings. How is this different?

A: I hear ya! This group will meet twice a month, but it will be anything but another hour of someone talking at you!

I’ll present some relevant content (about 10 minutes) on the pre-identified topic of the day to ground our conversations.

Then, you’ll break out into groups of 2-3 people with discussion questions that I’ll have ready for you. You’ll zoom into individual rooms and have 15 minutes to just…talk.

Finally, we’ll all come back for a group discussion for the last 15-20 minutes of the call.

I’ve got expertise and experience to share, but so does everyone else. Dialogue makes all the difference!

Q: What about cost?

A: I’m guessing you easily spend $125 in one trip to Target or Wal-Mart (just entering the parking lot is -$50, am I right?!?…).

Why not take one of those trips and pay yourself in time, reduced stress, and increased mental energy learning with-and-from others?

Q: Why would I want to spend my lunch hour talking about work?

A: Have you ever had a situation or challenge managing your team that you didn’t know the answer to? A time when you felt so far out of your comfort zone that you didn’t even know where to start finding a solution?

Or, how often have you wanted to run screaming from the building because this is the 5th time you’ve dealt with the SAME exact problem THIS month?!?

A mastermind community is your support system when you don’t have one in your organization.

We’ll talk about relevant, meaningful, and ongoing challenges that you are facing at work. I’ll bring research and suggestions based on my experience — but others in the community will do the same.

Chances are that someone has gone through something similar, and can offer advice or suggestions.

You’ll head back to your team armed with ideas and suggestions to start tackling your challenges. In the process, you’ll also learn how these changes can give you time and mental energy back to get to work on all your other responsibilities…or leave you extra mental capacity to tune in once you get home.

There is no contract or required commitment. Give us a chance for a month and see how this group could positively impact your life – both inside and outside of work!

You’ve got challenges – but we’ve got a team of people waiting to help you out. Join our community here!
